The Laksådalen/Bjellåtind area has been geologically explored for several years and prosperous findings have been reported. A description of the area is documented in an article written by associate professor Rune B. Larsen, NTNU in the reputable geo-science magazine Mineralium Deposita. Download the article here
Nordic Mining has in September in cooperation with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) carried out geological prospecting for tungsten in the Laksådal area in Gildeskål in Nordland county, Norway. The work has documented a layered deposit of a tungsten containing rock over a length of 600 meters with a thickness of 0.3 – 1.0 meter. Scheelite (tungsten containing mineral) was observed throughout the mineralisation.
Exploration activity will continue for the rest of the year. Further work will include delineation, sampling and analysis on tungsten, as well as molybdenum and gold. The work program will add to the knowledge of the deposit with regard to origin, grade, size and mineralogy. The purpose will be to achieve better understanding of geological structures.
