Engebø (TiO2)

The Engebø deposit was recognized as a major rutile deposit in the 1970s. The deposit is one of the largest proven mineral resources in Norway, and is today held by Nordic Mining through 9 mineral claims.

During 1995 to 1997, a large drilling campaign carried out by DuPont documented a resource of totally 382 mill. tons of eclogite ore, with an average content of 3,96% titanium di-oxide (TiO2).

We consider titanium to be a strategic mineral with a range of potential high-end applications within titanium metal, advanced alloys and nano-technology. In addition titanium can be used as feedstock for pigment production. The purchase and development of this deposit will establish Nordic Mining as one of the leading
suppliers of high grade feedstock for the titanium and pigment industry.

The further development of the Engebø rutile project will mainly focus on the following activities; Environmental consequence analysis, Geology and Mineralogy, Mine and Process, Market and Joint Operations Activities.
