The agreement with NTNU is a research, competence and resource supply agreement, which enables Nordic Mining to carry out a focussed mapping and prospecting activity for “high-end' minerals and metals deposits in Norway.
Associate professor Rune B. Larsen will under this agreement assist Nordic Mining in its assessment of various deposits and projects. Nordic Mining and NGU have entered into a frame agreement for supply of geological data, expertise and resources, both for prospecting services as well as for assisting Nordic Mining in its evaluation of geological and technological strategies.
Nordic Mining will seek to identify and verify strategic mineral deposits that has potential applications within high-technology industries, such as HPQ(High Purity Quartz) etc. Nordic Mining will actively pursue the development and commercialisation of new speciality products. The use of industrial minerals as raw materials for production of nano-particle based products is e.g. considered as an interesting potential. Recent studies also indicate that industrial minerals may be used in processes for effective removal or transformation of CO2 in e.g. natural gas fired power plants or other industrial processes with significant CO2 production.
